Saving the Planet: One toothbrush & Toilet roll at a time

toothbrush & toilet roll, environmental toothbrush, who gives a crap, save the planet

Have you ever had that moment and gone ‘Wow, I go through a toothbrush roughly every 3 months and those babies are going to out live me”? It’s one of those things that you never do really think about too deeply, like outer space and how small we are, as it kinda freaks you out. It is crazy though to think that Australians dispose over 30 million toothbrushes each year, amounting to approximately 1000 tonnes of landfill. Not to mention the plastic they’re made of won’t break down in our lifetime. I am not claiming to be Captain Planet or anything but I do think there are little things we can do in our day to day life that can truly make an impact on the world around us. And that is why I had to share with you all these two AMAZING products.

First up is the Environmental Toothbrush. This product is new to me and I must say I am in LOVE already (and so is the hubby)!! Not only is is a great price at $36 for a box of 12, which I find super competitive, but they also deliver for FREE! So you simply order online and it is delivered to your door. To quote the website, the Environmental Toothbrush has a bamboo handle and a natural cellulose fibre brush, they are biodegradable, environmentally sustainable, and do not pollute the environment. You can also order the different bristle in your preferred strength – soft, medium or child soft. I ordered the medium and I can tell you that I cannot notice the difference in the bristle from my old toothbrush.

Secondly, don’t you just love the name Who Gives a Crap and with a slogan like ‘Toilet paper so soft it’ll make your bottom smile’. What’s not to love?! But seriously these guys have a great cause behind them. Not only are their products priced competitively but they also deliver direct to your home for FREE – Yep, FREE! They also pride themselves with sourcing environmentally friendly materials PLUS Donate 50% of their profit to building toilets in the developing world. Now that is a cause I can get behind (pun intended).

I am on my second box now and I can definitely recommend this product. The paper is soft, the packaging is super cool and the price I feel is very competitive. A 48 pack cost $48, so only $1 per roll, with the added bonus of knowing you are buying something with a great cause behind it. Like I said, what’s not to love.

Support these great product and your planet –
Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, Heart… Go Planet!

  1. This is totally up my alley, working in sustainability. I use an electric toothbrush, but I’m definitely checking out the toilet paper!

Love the free postage too. Thanks for sharing x

  2. I absolutely love this, especially considering I’m trying to do this that’ll better help conserve and I guess be green? I never thought I’d be the one to… Haha. Thanks for this post!

    1. Thanks Suladys! So glad to have been an inspiration. I just did a huge bulk order with Who Gives a Crap as they now do tissues and kitchen paper. So I have stocked up in bulk – my bit for the environment and charity. ๐Ÿ™‚
