This week’s post is a guest post and a yummy one from Sally at Sally’s Lifestyle Journal. Back in April Sally posted about the most delicious looking Earl Grey Cupcakes she had recently made on her blog – they were so inspiring I wanted to try out myself making a Chai Latte version. However, Sally beat me to it and experimented with the recipe and create these delicious cupcakes. I was even lucky enough to get a taste tester, and trust me, you will not be disappointed. Yum!
Now to pass you over to Sally …
When winter rolls around I try and fill every spare minute curled up on the sofa with a cup of tea and a good book. And when that temperature drops I find comfort in endless cups of chai tea.
The exotic blend of spices in chai tea make it a really unique flavour and cooking with it had certainly crossed my mind, however it was a little push from Kacey after reading my Lady Grey Cupcake Recipe that inspired me to finally give it a go. So when she asked me to guest post here at The Tortoiseshell Glasses, I knew exactly what I wanted to share!
Spiced cakes are no new thing, but they are often only brought out once a year at Christmas time. Being that those in the northern hemisphere experience Christmas in winter this makes sense, however here in Australia we should be embracing the warming flavours over our cooler months.
So with that in mind, here is my simple chai latte tea cupcake recipe made even more delicious with a cinnamon frosting – my new favourite winter indulgence!
