7 Key Items To Organise Before Your Wedding

With your wedding day fast approaching, you’re likely to feel overwhelmed with the amount of organisation that you need to take care of. There’s so much to keep in mind when planning a wedding, and as the day draws closer, the more likely you are to forget something important! To help take some of the stress out of your big day and make sure your day goes ahead without a hitch, here we have a rundown of all of the little things you need to take care of, handily broken down into 7 main categories.

Do a final check that you have all of your meal selections back with your RSVPs, if you’ve given your guests a meal choice. If one or a few are missing, chase them up to ensure that everyone gets fed on the day! Make sure that you know of any dietary requirements and that your caterers are aware of them. It’s also a good idea to check in with your caterers to make sure that everything is running smoothly on their side.

Honeymoon plans
If you’re heading directly off on your honeymoon after the wedding, do your packing before the day, and if possible, send your luggage to your reception venue ahead of you so you don’t have to worry about it on the day. In a smaller bag, keep a change of clothes handy so you can be dressed for the climate you’re heading to. Check your reservations are confirmed and your rides to and from the airport are in place.

Confirm the date with your photographer, and if you’d like them to photograph you getting ready, confirm what time you’d like them to arrive. Have a discussion about what kind of photos you’d like – low key, candid shots or posed, glamorous shots, the choice is yours.

Wedding dress
Perhaps one of the biggest parts of a bride’s day is the wedding dress. Ensure it is clean, wrinkle-free and in a safe place. Think about whether you’d like to keep the wedding dress too – you may want to pass it down to your daughter or simply keep a hold of it as a token of your day. If this is the case, make arrangements for your dress to be taken to a quality dry cleaners to be preserved.

As well as making sure that your own ride to the wedding and reception is confirmed, have a think about how your guests are going to make it to and from the wedding and the reception. Are you going to organise a coach to make sure your guests can make it?

Weather plans
Check the weather forecast for your big day, but keep in mind that it might suddenly change! Do you have an umbrella at the church or your home to make sure you make it through the day dry? If you’re having an outdoor wedding or reception, do you have provisions in place incase it’s blowing a gale or pouring with rain?

Finally, check in with your venue that everything is going to plan. They are likely to have been in touch with your florist and caterers too, so your venue can give you a good run-through of how everything’s coming together.
