If you have been following my blog for a few months now you will remember I did a post about Dear Gladys Boutique in Melbourne, and my recent purchase at their Black Friday sale. As promised I have finally taken some photos for you, to show you the beautiful dress I purchased (Did you guess my favourite?). The thing I love about Dear Gladys is it combines two of my great fashion loves – Vintage and Second-hand items. This photoshoot also gave me an excuse to test out my new Christmas present – my Olympus OMD EM10. I am still learning all its features but so far I am loving it, and how easy it is to work with.
Just to recap, if you missed the first post – Dear Gladys is a Melbourne based online-only fashion boutique selling gorgeous vintage, designer and on trend fashion all for a great cause. What separates this boutique from the rest is that it is a not-for-profit organisation run by Fitted for Work. Fitted for Work helps disadvantaged women get work and keep it. This is achieved through a range of services from mentoring, interview preparation, personal outfitting, work experience, transition-to-work and staying employed programs. Dear Gladys not only have some amazing hand picked vintage items but they also sell second-hand donated items such as Gorman, Michael Kors and Olga de Polga to name a few.
I just love the colours on this dress as I have a bit of an obsession with orange at the moment, and the orange and pink are just magical. The quality of this dress is also amazing, and you would not tell that it is vintage at all (plus it fits me perfectly). The thing I love about Vintage clothing is the fact that I can wear this dress to a garden wedding, or special event and not have anyone turn up in the same outfit.
Also featured in this post is my FAVOURITE pair of orange Wittner wedges. These shoes I absolutely adore, they have a very vintage vibe to them and are super comfortable to wear. I basically live in these when I am getting dressed up for a special event, be it day or night. I actually purchased these from the Brisbane DFO for only $40 (about a year ago, sorry!) – The Wittner outlet there is AMAZING. Wittner is by far my favourite shoe company when it comes to unique, key fashion items.
Make sure you go and check out Dear Gladys online via their website – http://deargladys.com.au. They are forever having sales so sign up for their newsletter to be kept up to date.
